Target audience:
This course is beneficial for anyone who is related with construction activities in any sector or looking to move into construction.
Learning aims:
- To give learners an understanding of everyone’s safety, health and environmental responsibilities on a construction site.
- To enable learners to recognise how they can improve safety, health and environmental issues on a construction site.
- To ensure that learners clearly understand their safety and health responsibilities
Learning outcomes:
The learner will be able to:
- Identify the importance of working safely on a construction site.
- Identify everyone’s responsibilities in relation to safety, health and wellbeing on a construction site.
- Identify how law can have an impact on construction sites.
- Identify construction site hazards and risks, their impact and how to control them
Course content:
- Unit one: Setting the scene
- Unit two: Local law and enforcement
- Unit three: General site safety
- Unit four: High-risk activities
- Unit five: Health
Assessment:
Learners are required to take one of two standard assessments under examination conditions.
